Hi friends and lovely readers, it has been a while and I have missed you all. I abandoned my blog for months and with all honesty, I lost my mojo and enthusiasm to blog. This loss of motivation to blog all started when Bluehost decided to upgrade servers or whatever they were doing, my blog was critically damaged. After several complaints and emails back and forth, they apologized and added a month-free domain name extension which I declined. Nothing can ever take me back to Bluehost!
In all those times, all I did was complain and complain. My blog traffic was critically affected and everything I worked for felt like nothing. I felt lost and unwilling to go on. If you know me, I write with passion and research everything I write before publishing because I love quality rather than quantity. I love giving my readers something to enjoy and always look forward to. But this time around, I felt discouraged and unmotivated to continue. Why would I go from 400 views per day to barely 3 views per day? I gave up!
In the meantime, I read more on SEO but that felt boring. I felt SEO gave the vibe of writing for robots rather than humans but I still wanted my blog seen by new readers. So I asked myself, how will I make my blog scale if I didn’t do SEO? My answer to this is, I will just do the basics of SEO and continue to learn more day by day. It took me months to find this answer but I am glad I did. Now I am back with my head clear and refreshed. Because now, I have the basic ideas of what I want for my blog and readers.
Besides my blog, I would really like to give you insights into what has been really happening in my life. I would not like to be back blogging yet keep my readers in the dark.
Proposal Story ❤️
Last month, September 3, 2022. I got engaged to the LOVE OF MY LIFE ❤️. It was such a perfect scene in a beautiful restaurant in Lagos, Nigeria. The LOVE OF MY LIFE went on his knees and asked me to MARRY HIM. It was such a beautiful and magical moment that makes me smile anytime I think of it.
A couple of days before the proposal, he mentioned we would be going out on a date to Kapadoccia, Lagos. I had to go on IG immediately to see what the place looked like. If you see the amazement on my face, I didn’t know there was a restaurant this beautiful in Lagos. It had this cavey look, very different from your typical restaurant feel. I was excited, I knew I had to dress up and look good. Whether there was a proposal or not, looking good it is, the restaurant already gave the vibe. I had to dress the part.
The day before going to the restaurant, I told my Fiance, I wanted to do my nail. Typical me would have just put on faux nail and glued it but I wanted something that wouldn’t break off when a ring comes on it. Mind you, this is all in my head, I should not be caught off guard and unfresh. He was really supportive and followed me to the nail artist’s shop to get my nails done. He even chose the colour of nail paint I should wear. The colour looked great on me by the way (bold pink). He has eyes for beautiful colours.
On the proposal day, I planned on wearing something different from what I had at home. I did my skincare, wore shorts and put on my wig to go shopping. I couldn’t do my makeup because I would not like to stain the dresses I would be trying on at the dress store. I went on to House of Naya at Lekki to try out the amazing styles I have been seeing online. The staff were really helpful. They picked out different styles I could try on before I finally settled for a red and white polka dot dress.
As we were leaving to enroute the restaurant, I saw a makeup artist that was looked like she was looking for her first customer. I thought “why not just let her do your makeup instead of stressing because it’s rubbish you would do if you do it by yourself, remember, you must look good all round today”. I went inside her store and negotiated the price. Her price was fine by me. She started my makeup, luckily for me, I was her first customer so I didn’t have to wait long. Mind you, my Fiance was with me. I knew how boring it would be for him but typical him loves me too much so he kept his cool, telling me that he is fine 🤣🤣. He kept pressing his phone, moving from IG to Whatsapp to Twitter to going to the toilets and changing seats 😂.
When we got to the restaurant, the place looked magical. A typical top-notch restaurant you see in movies, archaic cavey yet modern look. It felt surreal. I entered unbeknownst to me, my Fiance had planned with my best friends and his friends to make a video from the entrance of the restaurant to the staff getting us a seat. Their staff were amazing and friendly.
As I sat down, I started taking pictures. I looked gorgeous. The makeup artist did an amazing job within a short time. My dress was beautiful, and fit the occasion perfectly well. The pictures I took were already going to 20 before the waiter asked what I would like to order. I checked their menu, and I wasn’t so sure what to pick but went for a shrimp meal. I had to order for my Fiance as well. I didn’t know this was a fake order but they had to make it look real. The waiter came again asking me if I like cheesecake. I’m like “sure” I like cheesecake. Didn’t put much thought into “who eats desserts before their main course?”. I told my Fiance, if she wants to bring cheesecake, I would not mind.
She brought the most beautiful cheesecake ever! “WILL YOU MARRY ME TUNRAYO“
I was still in shock as he went on his knees and my best friends came out and I couldn’t contain my joy anymore, tears started to flow and I said: “YES, I WILL“. It was truly a magical moment and beautiful memory.
A memory I would cherish forever. I am truly grateful to Funmi, Yewande, Ayodeji, Temi, Shodex, Stanley, and Daniel Oni for pulling this off.
To my baby Babajide Johnson aka Not Your Regular Doctor, I love you every day and forever. I thank God for making our paths cross and making us meet at the right time in the right place and at the right moment. Everything seems right with you because everything of God is rightly ordained. I pray God makes this journey a beautiful and exciting journey for the both of us, I am glad God chose you for me. Thank you for your constant show of love, affection, and appreciation towards me.
